Professor Selterman, from the University of Maryland, has been messing with his students year-after-year with an extra credit question since 2001. He teaches PSYC221 in which the majority of grades are A’s-B’s. Rarely do students score below a B in his class, so he’s well liked around campus. He’s known for a lot more than teaching an easy class, though. He’s known for stumping students even when they know it’s coming. The question has been said to be “cruel and unusual punishment” but if you think about it, this professor really just wants to see how selfish his students can be. Is it for his own enjoyment, or does he want students to understand it’s not always about them?
